One Facet Of Absolute Windows’ Business is to assist Commercial Properties in the replacement of existing windows.
Read more about the Tampa City Hall Impact Window Replacements and it’s historical importance.
Tampa City Hall
Tampa City Hall is a
historial registered building and they wanted to keep the exact aesthetic flow of the existing wood windows that they had in place. As we partnered with them, we made it our goal to make them meet the standardized building codes along with the added value of
impact window protection.
We found a company that could customize the extrusion from aluminum. Yes, we were able to exactly duplicate the look and profile of the existing wood windows using aluminum frames. We then added Impact Resistent Glass to satisfy the local and state building codes.
Our next task was to also match the color of the existing wood windows. With careful planning and testing our aluminum supplier was able to find the exact paint color. Thank goodness for wonderful business partners!
This was a true Win-Win for the historical group and for
Absolute Windows. At last, we were able to receive final approval for the final design and the color of the Windows.
The scope of this project was being watched by so many historians because of the status of the building and the Newspaper, TV and other special interest groups within the media.
The Absolute Window Crews were on top of there game with this installation. Remember, not only were the aluminum frames heavy.. the impact glass was monstrous!
It took 2 men just to pick up the glass while at the same time be aware that they were working on scaffolding several floors in the air. Safety was a prime concern, and all the installers had to additionally wear fall protection.
The crew and management did a great job, and as you can see the project is coming along nicely. The residents of Tampa should be extremely proud of there city hall!
We look forward to the opportunity to partner with other governmental entities on these custom projects and working with historians around the state of Florida to capture our county run facilities in a timely fashion to be able to do our part in preserving our past history.
